Jackie's Medical Care

Organized by Neighborhood Cats

Jackie's progress
Thank you so much, everyone, for helping us reach our goal for Jackie's medical care! We are overwhelmed by your thoughtfulness and generosity.

Although his injuries are healing well, Jackie has developed a serious upper respiratory infection and is extremely congested, so the dental procedure he needs to address his painful fractured tooth will be delayed until he is well enough for anesthesia. In the meantime, he has touched the hearts of everyone at the hospital with his good spirits and affectionate nature, which even a severe URI cannot suppress. In the words of his vet, "He is a great cat!"

We will be posting further updates and photos of our boy as his condition improves. Thank you again for your wonderful support.
Jackie needs your help!
Jackie, a friendly eartipped cat, was living on the streets of Brooklyn when he was hit by a car. Luckily, he survived the accident -- but unluckily, he was brought to NYC's Animal Care & Control and quickly scheduled for euthanasia. Neighborhood Cats stepped in and pulled him from the shelter, and Jackie is now resting comfortably at a veterinary clinic, where he is being treated for injuries around his eye and nose. Despite his ordeal, he is an amazingly sweet and friendly boy and is as inquisitive as a kitten. So far he doesn't appear to have any broken bones but is a little wobbly on his feet, so he will be under observation for possible neurological problems. We are hopeful, though, that with proper care he will be able to make a full recovery.

Any contribution toward his medical expenses is greatly appreciated. On behalf of Jackie, thank you!
Jackie
